41 paddlers competed in the 38th running of the Rhoose Ski Race hosted by Rhoose Lifeguards on Sunday, May 7th, 2017, our biggest entry for several years

A rare lull in the recent strongly easterly winds gave flat calm conditions, with the occassional sun to keep the temperatures up, but not too hot

Congratulations to all those that took part, and thanks to all those that helped to organise the event and provided the BBQ, drinks and cakes. Thanks to the SLSA Wales IRB crews.

Registration:    10:00am / Briefing 11:00am
Start time:    Juniors 11:30AM / Other categories as soon as Juniors finish.
Entry:        £10.00 per person

Categories (all distances approximate):
Open men – 10KM
Open ladies – 8KM
Masters men (40+) – 8KM
Ladies (35+) – 8KM
U19 men / ladies – 8KM
U16 men / ladies – 4KM
Open double* – 8KM
* Open double ski may be male, female or mixed in any age; it is just one category.



BUOYANCY AIDS ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL PADDLERS
(the club do have some spare aids but you are advised to bring your own if possible)

The event is organised and run by Rhoose Lifeguards and is open to all paddlers from any like-minded organisation

Rhoose Ski Race 2016

Race Report & Results


30 paddlers competed in the 37th running of the Rhoose Ski Race hosted by Rhoose Lifeguards on Saturday May 21st 2016.

Another year with variable conditions - early unexepcted calmer weather led to the 'normal' full course being set up with a loop between Rhoose Beach and Pleasent Harbour/Power Station. But as race time approached, the forecast southerly wind picked up and set the sea into  messy side-on waves will little help for the competitors.

Congratulations to all those that took part, and thanks to all those that helped to organise the event and provided the BBQ, drinks and cakes. Special thanks to the SLSA Wales IRB crews.
