2009 subscriptions are now due

Rhoose lifeguard training 2009 will restart on Wednesday 7th Jan for the 95, 96, Junior,intermediate, senior and masters section, and Friday the 9th Jan for the Nipper section. Please ensure your 2009 membership fees are paid to Alan Wadey by these dates as you might not be covered by insurance to swim in the pool.

Rhoose Lifeguards host Carol Service for N.S.P.C.C.

A big thankyou to all of you who supported the Rhoose Lifeguard Community Carol Service in aid of the N.S.P.C.C.

On Friday 19th December Rhoose lifeguards organised their yearly Community Carol Service in aid of the N.S.P.C.C. and donated over £290 and 6 sack fulls of Christmas presents to Mrs Eryl Evans and Mrs Cerys Howe representing the society on the night.

 

A huge thankyou goes to all the Clubs and Organisations who supported the event including Rhoose Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and all their leaders. A special thanks to Mrs Heather Jenkins for once again playing the piano, the Stewart Road Community Centre for letting us use the hall and finally Father Christmas for spending the time out of his busy schedule at this time of year.

 

Mrs Jackie Hayman of the Barry and District  N.S.P.C.C. has written to the club and has expressed her grateful thanks for the hard work and enthusiasm the members put into the event, Jackie would like to confirm that on top of the generous gifts given by the children she confirmed that £139.70 was taken in envelopes, £111.50 in loose money and £39.20 in gift aid.

 

Well done to you all for giving something back to a Community who support the club all the year around

Rhoose Lifeguards celebrate a fantastic year with their A.G.M. and Awards night

Yet another year drawing to a close and the club celebrate their successes with an A.G.M.and awards night.

Last Friday 28th November 2008 Rhoose Lifeguards held their yearly awards night at the Fonty Bay Club with all of the clubs members.

 

The evening was kicked off with the A.G.M chaired by our President Sir Brook Boothby with Vice President Councillor Jeff James and Chair Mrs Denise Cooper in attendance. Tracey gave the secretaries report, Steph discussed the finances, Chris gave an overall picture of the Nipper section and Coops gave us a report from the Juniors.

It was agreed by all that Rhoose Lifeguard Club has had one of its best years on record.

Thanks were given to all members especially those stepping down from various club positions.

Presentations were then presented to club members and the evening was concluded with a bar and disco.
