Congratulations to Rhoose lifeguards for achieving the highest Suf Lifesaving Honour in Wales by winning the

Welsh Surf Lifesaving Ocean Championships 2008

The club would like to thank all the hard work put in by every member of Rhoose Lifeguards not just on the day but through the training sessions over the past few months. Also the time and energy put in by the coaching staff and parent helpers has been exceptional, turning up in all weathers to offer every  member of the club the best training programme any club in the country would be envious of. Our thanks also to the Masters for their support of the team, and finally a huge thanks to the parent and family support not just over the weekend but through the whole year ensuring craft and equipment is ferried to and from events, children arrive on time and regularly for training  and your massive contribution to the current success story of Rhoose Lifeguards.

If the Nipper Ocean Championships had also been added to the aggregate score as originally requested by some of the clubs

Rhoose would still have come first with 5479.5

Mumbles would have been second with 4689

Pen-y-Bont would have been third with 4193.50

Rhoose Win Aberavon Carnival
Monday, 28 July 2008 13:46

On Sunday 27th July, Rhoose Lifeguard Nipper Section won their second Carnival this year at Aberavon. With a team of 40 children and the weather conditions perfect the mighty Rhoose Nippers took on 9 clubs from other parts of Wales and excelled on the Beach and Sea events. Excellent individual performances were achieved on the day but Rhoose Nipper's strength came from the whole team pulling together as one, to defeat the strong competition from the other clubs.

On the day the Rhoose Nippers were one of the largest supported clubs on the beach and credit for this fantastic result also goes to the coaches and parents who take an active part in the running of this section. The above result is all down to a lot of very talented children and hard work and commitment put in by all its members.

Well done to you all.

Our thanks to Aberavon S.L.S.C. for organising a fantastic event.
